When Proper Hotels decided to introduce a sister brand that reflected their core values in experience and aesthetic, but at a lower price point, they brought us on to help design it from the ground up. We were tasked with everything from naming, logo design, signage, wayfinding, murals, print and digital collateral, marketing materials — even full branding packages for the two restaurants on the flagship property as well. Why June? June embodies the California ethos. It nods to the lifestyle—progressive, young, active, cheerful, laid-back. June is the start of summer, a state of mind, and Hotel June is a place for new beginnings. It’s truehearted, full of wonder, and sunny, no matter what the weather. It’s a casual stay, a neighborhood hangout, a place for travelers to find a brief home and for locals to escape. June is a Saturday afternoon—all year long.
