Surfrider Foundation Rebrand

The Surfrider Foundation is committed to keeping our ocean and coastlines clean around the world through local grassroots initiatives and national legislation. When we were commissioned by Surfrider for a rebrand, the goal was to go back to something reminiscent of their first logo, but with a modern twist. We developed a new mark along with a flexible lockup system that could accommodate local chapter memberships around the globe, plus a slew of branding-in-context examples from their “Drilling Is Killing” initiative to their International Surfing Day event. Ultimately, what we delivered (shown here in this case study) was not what the client ended up implementing, but we’re proud of the solution we proposed and are happy to have informed the final result in some ways.
