A hip, boutique hotel in the heart of Williamsburg.

We were commissioned by Marriot Hotel Group to develop a full branding package and collateral systems for their latest boutique style property, “Moxy Hotel” in Brooklyn, New York. This included three unique bar & restaurant concepts: Mesiba, Lillistar, and Bar Bedford.

Mesiba, a Tel Aviv-inspired restaurant. Meaning “party” in Hebrew, Mesiba takes inspiration from the diverse flavors of Israel, animated by the celebratory “breaking bread” culture of the Levant. Mesiba features contemporary Levantine cuisine by Chef Eli Buli and innovative, vibrant cocktails in an eclectic and lively design-forward atmosphere. For the branding, we were inspired by Bauhaus design & architecture, mixed with the bohemian vibe of Tel Aviv and classic New York nightlife motifs.

LilliStar is an indoor-outdoor lounge and cocktail bar on the rooftop of Moxy Williamsburg, offering stunning, unobstructed views of the Williamsburg Bridge, East River and Lower Manhattan. Inspired by vintage Bali surf and beach aesthetics, we designed a super colorful, funky and playful look & feel that extended from print and digital collateral items to custom uniforms for the bar & wait staff.

Paying homage to New York’s old automats, Bar Bedford features rotating, blackened-metal motorized shelves that house over 1,500 bottles of spirits from around the world. For the branding system, we were inspired by classic Americana cocktail bars and prohibition era Brooklyn motifs: strong, hard-working typography with some industrial, railway hints as well.
